About this practice
Slow, spoken guidance for low energy. A grounding session you can do before bed. A guided session of about 3 minutes, suited to all levels. Nothing is recorded and no account is needed.
What this works on: low energy
Low energy is a flat battery, not laziness. Pushing through it further drains reserves and produces worse work, faster.
It tends to show up as:
- Everything feeling like an effort
- Procrastinating on simple tasks
- Tiredness sitting deep in the body
A short practice will not restore the reserve, but it removes some of the tension that is draining it.
Doing this before bed
- Do it in bed or somewhere you can move straight to bed after
- Lower the light, and do not check anything afterwards
- If you fall asleep before the end, it worked
Falling asleep mid-session is a success, not a failure to complete it.
How grounding works
Grounding brings attention to physical contact and the immediate environment. It works on the principle that the body cannot be somewhere else, so contact with the surface you are on is always available as an anchor.
- Feel the contact points — feet, seat, back — and let them take your weight
- Use the senses deliberately: what you can see, hear, touch
- Return to solidity whenever attention drifts
What happens, minute by minute
- 0:00Notice the temperature of the air on the backs of your hands.
- 0:13Small efforts are the whole method.
- 0:23There's no correct speed. Slower isn't better. Steadier is the only aim.
- 0:36Follow one full breath from the moment it starts to the moment it ends.
- 0:50Notice the breath you're taking right now. That's the only one that exists.
- 1:03Feel your belly. Let it be soft instead of held in.
- 1:15Picture the effort everything takes as a weather front passing over. You are not the weather. You are the sky it moves through.
- 1:33There is a part of you that has handled hard moments before. That part is here now, even if it is quiet.
- 1:51Let the breath move at the speed of a sleeping person.
- 2:03If the tiredness that sits in the bones shows up, let it be there without arguing with it. You are not trying to remove it, just to sit beside it.
- 2:24Notice whether you're breathing or holding. Start breathing again.
- 2:35Nothing here needs to be efficient.
- 2:45Let the next breath be the start of the rest of the day.
