About SoftlyStill

A tiny counterpoint to the meditation industry.

SoftlyStill is a small website that offers guided meditations, breathing exercises and sleep stories. It is free, it has no accounts, and it tracks nothing about you.

We started from a simple observation: the tools sold to help people calm down are built with the same engines that keep people agitated — streaks, notifications, subscriptions. We wanted to make the opposite: a quiet page that asks nothing of you and gives you somewhere to sit for a few minutes.

The core practices are written one at a time, by hand. The shorter structured sessions are built from honest, sentence-level templates that are combined differently for each session — which is how they stay coherent at scale. There are no dark patterns in the design, no accounts, and nothing is tracked.

Where to start: if your head is loud, try a guided meditation; if your body is tense, a breathing exercise works faster; if it is late, the sleep stories are read slowly on purpose. For the longer reads behind these practices, see the guides and articles.

SoftlyStill is not medical advice and never will be. If you are struggling, please also talk to a professional.
