Focus session · admin and email · 90 min
A 90-minute block for admin and email, with a library, if you are tired of apps
A single 90-minute block for admin and email — in one pass, without opening new tabs.
90:00
Press start. The timer keeps time so you do not have to look at a clock.
Notice the temperature of the air on the backs of your hands. No account, no streak, no notification asking how you feel. This is a short one, so let's use the time properly.
1 Before you start
- Get water now, so you do not have to get up in fifteen minutes.
- Plan to leave the last two minutes for writing down where to pick up next time.
- Take one slow breath before you press start, so the session has a beginning.
- Remember that motivation usually arrives after starting, not before.
- Go to the toilet first. It sounds trivial until you are mid-sentence.
2 While the timer runs
- If your attention keeps sliding, shorten the next block rather than abandoning this one.
- When the timer feels too long, look at it less. The clock is not the task.
- When you notice you have drifted, do not restart the block. Just come back and carry on counting from where the timer is.
- If you feel restless, change your posture rather than your task.
3 When it ends
- Resist the urge to review the work straight away. Come back to it later with fresh eyes.
- Write one line about where to start next time. Future you will be grateful.
- Put the notes you made where you will find them next time.
4What to put on
a library — Almost nothing: distant footsteps, a chair, a page turning. Useful if you want the feeling of a room where work is normal.
This page is a tool, not a course. Nothing is tracked, nothing is saved, and nobody is told whether you finished.
